The cardinal represents my grandfather - on Mother’s Day, I went into my grandmother’s backyard for the first time in a while and a cardinal instantly flew and landed on the patio roof. I felt an instant comfort and felt like he was with me. They say cardinals represent the loved ones we’ve lost, so I see it as I have made peace with my past (younger me hugging me now) and continue on my journey as an adult, I am also guided by my ancestors and those who came before me.
